I bought this tv tuner card
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8804672185&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1

Its some generic pos as far as i can tell, but i'm trying to record video and audio from my video camera through the rca jacks.

Now the video i can record fine, but i'm hooking the red rca cable to a spdif jack i find on my mother board and in TVR(the 'software' that came with it) i select the input audio as spdif. Try to record, the video is fine, but no sound.
Also i have never heard of the S/pdif jack before but it said in/out so i figured it should be able to record.

My Mobo is DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR ATX S939 NFORCE4 SLI DDR 2PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound
http://search.ncix.com/displayproductdetail.php?sku=13826&vpn=LP-NF4-SLI-DR&manufacture=DFI
And no sound card installed except for whats on the mobo itself.

Any help would be nice, I really have no idea what i'm doing.

No can do

SPDIF Sony Phillips Digital InterFace

It's digital audio. The red and white RCA audio outputs on your camera are analog and should probably go to the Line In on the back of your sound card or audio connection panel (if you use onboard audio). Use recording vol control of sound card or the Windows vol control (recording) to set audio levels.

One of the pathetic aspects of Windows is that their volume control, especially for recording, has no sound level meter. While audio apps may have one, TV apps mostly don't. Here's the ones I use: meterH & PPM

Ok i dont seem to have any ports that allow for a RCA to plug into. Is that the on board audio's fault?

In the mean time i have my microphone hooked up and sitting beside the camera while its playing. that way the software is recording everything but as you can imagine, its not great sound quality.

You can get a cable that has red and white RCA male connectors on one end and 3.5mm stereo miniplug on the other at most electronics and pc stores.
