Need help with upgrading my cpu

Ok hope you guys can help.
I want to put in the best cpu that my mobo can take but I have no idea what one it is. I have a intel celeron d 2.53 in here now
Can someone please tell which one will work for me thank you or tell what specs i need to look for when picking out a new cpu

I updated the bios already. Is there anything else I need to know.
I'm new to this stuff any help will be appreciated.
 
Your current power supply should be good enough. One thing they don't tell you in that video I gave you is to run your computer about 5 minutes before attempting to remove the heatsink from the motherboard. This will soften the thermal paste and make it easier to remove it.

Hopefully your motherboard will work with the new processor. Original Equipment Manufacturer motherboards are known to not be good quality for processor upgrades.
