Need help with video card compatability before I buy one

So my computer is 3 years old and I'm looking to upgrade the video card for it. If possible.

I don't want to go out and buy a video card and find out that you cant install any video card in my computer or the one I buy simply isn't compatible.


Here are my specs

I'm not looking to get a top of the line video card here.

Something along this. 100-200 price range

I'd get a gt 520 or something like this and not upgrade the psu cause other cards that require a better psu will be bottlenecked by your cpu so it'll just be a waste of money (I'm running a gt 520 on a 300w psu, so yes it is possible).

Oh, and if you really want a powerful card in the $100-200 range I would buy a 7850 not the 650ti because the 7850 costs the same amount of money and is way more powerful.

From what I seen the gt 520's seem to be alot cheaper as well.

Whats a good gt 520?

Also if I do opt for the more expensive route and go with a 7850 would that require a PSU as well?

Get a GT620 man, they are like 50 bucks and don't require additional power pins.
 
The gt 520 or gt 620 (either one works) are not absolutely amazing cards but they are pretty good for the price. On my gt 520 I was playing just cause 2 maxed out except for the shadows, they were set to medium, and I was playing at 1440x900. So yeah, it's an ok card, you can pretty much play all games on low or medium in 1080p, in lower resolutions you might be able to max out on some games. If you go for the 7850, yes you will most definitely have to go for a new psu, I'd say at least 500w and buy some good brand like corsair/antec/seasonic/ocz/evga.
 
Okay. So new problem


I bought a GEFORCE GT 620. I put in the graphics card but whenever its in I lose all display on the monitor

It turns on and loads up I just get no image on my screen

I tried disabling (didn't uninstall) my integrated graphics card and restarting but that didn't help either.
