need help

about 2 months back my computer started doing this, im not sure about what i did that might have made this happen. it takes about 3-5 minutes to open a new page, or link that opens a new page. but once the page is loaded it works perfectly fine. any ideas on what i can do to fix this?
 
Like Cohen said... which browser/OS are you using?

try clearing all temp files etc by running a freeware cleaner such as Ccleaner
 
i have internet explorer, not the new one, i didnt like it. and have xp. as far as i know i have norton 360 and the pop up blocker that is on the browser
 
AVG 8.0 has a site checker in it, it will check the site if it is good or not, if not, i will go to the page and pop up saying, do you wish to continue to this unsafe site.
