Hi i'm trying to build a some what of a new gaming computer. And i need some help and advise about compatibility of the parts and if they seem fair.(I'm mainly unsure of the cpu and mobo.)

HD:Western Digital Caviar Blue WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM

MOBO: ASUS M4A79 Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

VideoCard: PNY VCGGTS2501XPB GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

PowerSupply:CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power ... - Retail

RAM:G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ - Retail

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HDZ955FBGIBOX - Retail

That cpu will run on that board, depending on the BIOS, but that Memory will not.

That board runs DDR2.

Also, that board will run Crossfire, but not SLI, so you might want to consider
an ATI card instead, just in case you want to get another in the future.

For the Mobo I would get an ASUS M4A78 Plus or a GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P the gigabyte will run DDR3 RAM but does not support crossfire or sli. The ASUS uses DDR2 RAM but does support Crossfire I'm not sure if it supports sli. The gigabyte is your best bet If you only won't one GPU and DDR3 RAM.

Crossfire only, need an nforce 700/900 chipset to run sli.

so am i able to change the bios setting later to run with the cpu? if anything which is better sli or the crossfire? is there a higher mobo that can support ddr3 and sli? if not which would you choose, the asus or the gigabyte mobo?

No boards support amd3/ddr3 and sli,due to the nvidia chipset.Although plenty of boards support ddr3 and crossfire(which i would recommend over a ddr2 board like the M4A78, as its crossfire is 16x 4x, while something with a 790X chipset would be 16x 8x, gpu's right now cant use up an 8x slot but will use up a 4x pci express slot). Right now, amd is best in the bang for the buck area, and its roughly like this:
4850~9800gtx+/GTS250
4870~GTX260/GTX260 Core 216
4890~Depending on benches and overclocking, between a GTX275 and GTX285.

Need help. I have a GA 8SKML motherboard, BIOS Version F2 (Which is the latest). 2 x 256MB RAM. HP CD-Writer. Samsung 40 Gig HDD. No matter what I try I cannot install windows XP (Tried 3 CD's) or Win 2000 (Which I have installed on this PC many time with no problems.)

I have tried all suggestions on other forums and google. Like remove all unessacery hardware and peripherals, disable onboard LAN, sound etc... Use only one RAM module. Press f5 during Boot from CD and select different PC types.

Everytime the windows setup hangs on "setup is starting windows"

Any help would be appreciated.

I would start with making your own thread and not hijacking someone elses;)
