Need Help!!!

I have a new comp. build. I purchased windows 7 professional upgrade and windows 7 office from the student deal. Well it won't except the Product key because it's an upgrade and I'm suppose to have XP or Vista installed first. What can I do? I have legit copies of XP and Vista on old comps I thru away and no longer use( still have the discs) , but how can I backwards load???
 
Well I was on the phone with M.S. for about 2 hours between a bunch of tech support numbers and 2 dropped calls. It's now fixed. They had to reset the pasword or something they even gave me a new product key number and still didn't work. They said it had something to do with the disc., they said it's an authentic back up disc. and that sometimes this happens. So now that windows is loaded, I have to load more programs and then stress test it...
 
after 2 years MS decided my copy of vista was "already in use" and gave me 30 days to buy another key. I still have the receipt for my copy and they have validated it before without incident. unless someone found a way to steal my "key" MS made a mistake. I have not yet been able to find a contact number to reach a real live human being at MS, how about passing on your contact number. They are due to cancell my OS in 6 more days. I"m not buying another key for vista, guess i'll use linux next.
