Im thinking of purchasing a ASUS G72GX from my friend for $300? It works great. Im mostly going to be doing video editing and Im not sure if I should buy it or just get a new computer. If I do buy it I plan on putting maybe a quad core in it and a ssd. What should I do? im kinda new to this.

Getting a quad core & SSD would be another $230.

Personally would buy new if you have the money ($800 - 1000).

Well im looking for one in the 500 dollar range. This laptop is in very good shape it was barely used and it was only used to play WOW. It has an NVIDIA GTX 260 which is a pretty good video card for what I would like to be doing, like a little gaming. I would save up a little more money but I have a big project coming up and I also have to purchase a DSLR Camera. If you think there is a computer out there that will out perform this setup in the $500 dollar range let me know? Plus on ebay it goes for around $400 dollars and if I did make some upgrades to it like putting in a ssd and new cpu I think I could easily get it for $500-$600.
