Need Help

Hey,

First off if this problem is not related to this section then I'm sorry.

My problem is that when I start my computer from a cold start, I get a black screen and thats it.

It happened after it crashed while i was watching a movie.
The screen suddenly went beserk with horizontal lines crossing the screen and then it automatically rebooted itself.
After the reboot i got the black screen.
When I boot, it doesn't even show the bios splash, nothing and nothing happens.
You don't hear the beeps, etc etc like normally.
I think its my video card thats broken but I'm not sure.
It could be motherboard too.

Additional information:
ASUS Intel 845 Chipset P4B533-E
P4 2.4 GH
1024 MB DDR2 533 Mhz PC4200
Asus NVIDIA GeForce Ti4400 128 MB
80 GB WD
240 GB WD

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it to me. Although im not sure if the motherboard beeps if it doesn't recognize a graphics card (have my speaker unpluged on my motherboard). I know if it doesn't see a keyboard or mouse it beeps. Maybe someone else can comment on this.
 
The same thing happened to me and it turned out my monitor was stuffed, what that doesnt seem like the case here. it could be any thing wrong at this stage but is probaly your video card...try testing it in another computer.

just bought a new video card and its fixed
Ati Radeon X700Select 256 MB
and now all i can do is pray that this wont burn =P
