Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me with this? It is really frustrating. Being a freelance webdesigner, i recently found an agency that ordered me an Internet Flash site. Since the begining of the project i've been going back and forth from my apartment to his agency, (i work at home) burning updated cd-wr of my work to be able to show the manager the progress. Until now there hasn't been any problems. This afternoon though, as usual i went to show him my latest update but this time there was a serious data integrity problem, (he has a mac with IE5, Firefox and Safari) it showed a weird combination of past and recent work with a flash type bug on one of the pages...
I've tested the cds i burned on two other pc computers and there is no problem at all, i can see my latest work and everything works ok. It seems that the problem is on his mac but why didn't i have this problem before? I've burned a completely new cd, i tried another brand too but it still shows a corrupted type content on all of the agencies navigators, (i've emptied the cache too). I have nero for cd burning. Ive decided to publish the site on my demo site for now but i don't usualy do this. Can anyone help?...
Thankyou very much

Hello,
Yes, i'm working at home on a pc. The agency i'm working for has Macs with recent OS installed. I've tested the burned cds on other pc's and it works fine. The strange thing is that this problem has starded only after my last update on a few flash pages. Nothing special, just a change of color on one page, (color that has already shown corectly before on mac) and a few simple action script changes on another page. Since i've posted the site on my portfolio we've discovered that the published version also has a problem on Mac. The index page shows ok but once you click on enter to go forward you get just an empty black page. Here is the link if you want to look at the site, (seems to work ok on pc) : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/bartlett/fab
Thank you for your help

I have found that sometimes when I do web work on my pc and then view it on my mac there is differences, but usually thats if I'm working with Java scripts and other such files. I'm not sure if it's a browser issue or what?
What type of browsers are you using to preview in on you pc? And is it the same as the mac?? My web design skills are limited, but I have had problems with sites designed on a pc, working properly on a mac. Usually the best way around this is to keep the desing simple and work with html as much as possible. I dont know a ton about flash, so I kind of stay away from it when designing sites. I think this is more of a browser issue than a flash issue. I'll checkt he site out tonight on my mac and see how it runs.

Don't worry, i've got everything under control. I was having a serious problem with my project showing on Mac but it finally turned out to be a mistake in my programing. In Microsofts last update they changed the way an embedded object, (such as Flash or Winmedia) can be used. People with IE installed will have to click on the object in the page for it to function correctly, when they go over the object with the mouse they see a very ugly border line and a little alt tag saying "click here to use this activeX..." (Microsoft lost a case in court against an activeX company). There is a way of bypassing this with java script and that's exactly what i had to do to have the Flash work correctly right off the bat. What you have to do is create an exterior java script file with a document.write function for each object piece and then put a java script tag in the html page calling the function. The Flash parameters being in the exterior file instead of the main html page, i made a mistake writing in one place "myclip.swf" and in another myclip2.swf which ended up creating a conflict once the function was called, well, if not on PC, it sure did on Mac!!!
Anyway, there is going to be a strong need for web developers in the near future! Can you imagine all the IE users and all the Flash that's out there?! Thanks again for your kind interest. If you need any advice on webdesign or print design please don't hesitate.
