I am about to buy and build a new computer.
My Budget is about $1200

Need:
CPU (want amd 3500+ if possible)
Mobo (dont need sli)
Ram (want corsair, kingston, or OCZ)
HD (want a 150gb raptor if possible)
Video card (want a 7900gt if possible)
Case (nice and fully Aluminum or Steel)
PSU (450w or more)

I have the Monitor, Sound Card, Keyboard and the Mouse

I know I am picky but you have to be when it comes to YOUR computer

That looks like a good set up, you could probably get an Intel processor though thats just as good for less money.

If he's going to game though, the X2 would be best, and im assuming he's a gamer since he wanted a 7900gt.

Yeah true but still gaming is better with that CPU but Intel is fine too. I have a Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ and a Geforece FX 5200 and gaming is fine. I can play Battlefield fine and halo and all those good games.

Those games arent extremely graphic demanding as some newer games though.

Halo System Requirements
• Multimedia personal computer with a 733 MHz or higher processor
• Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 Service Pack 1, or Windows XP
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM
• 200 MB of available hard disc space
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
• Broadband internet connection
These differ from the retail version of Halo PC by not requiring:
• 8x CD-ROM drive
• 32 MB 3D hardware-transform-and-lighting capable video card
• Sound card and speakers or headphones
• DirectX 9.0b
To run an optimal Halo PC dedicated server, a personal computer with the following requirements is recommended:
• Personal computer with a 1.4 GHz or higher processor
• Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server (with all service packs installed)
• 256 MB of RAM or more
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
When running multiple instances on a server, these requirements have to be adjusted to account for the additional resources required.

Don't forget it runs Battlefield too. The AMDs don't make much a difference for gaming. With Intel you can game fine, and everything else works great too.

I have a P4 2.8ghz and I did have a geforce fx 5200 but i upgraded to a geforce 6800. A few years ago. It runs games good. Bf2 runs on medium and also css on medium and 50-60 fps. I really want something better.

I really want a Raptor more then anything so if you could give me a build with a Raptor HD then i will be very greatful. I heard that Intel and Amd processors are going down in price? So maybe the processor will make my total lower. And I would be able to get something else with my rig

On the 24th, the price of the X2 3800+ is going to drop to $169, so you'll save some cash there and you should be able to get a WD Raptor.
