hey can i delete registry keys of software

like i click run and put regedit the hKeylocalmashine then software and then all those folders can i delete them

there are a lot of folders which i dont have program fore

can i delete

will it hurt my pc??
 
If you're not 100% sure that you know what you're doing, I wouldn't suggest manually removing registry keys. You may f*ck up Windows to the point where you would have to do a clean install. I suggest downloading a registry cleaner. CCleaner is free and does an okay job.

I agree with J0hn00, don't delete any keys until you know what they do, even after you know what they do, don't delete things unnecessarily from the registry. Ccleaner is a good tool; just be sure that you use the option of making backups.
 
Tell us what you are looking to do this for, and we can come up with a good answer.

Examples:

Are you trying to clean up your registry to make the PC start faster?

Are you trying to get spyware out of the registry that is causing you problems?

Can you delete folders? yes.... Should you start deleting them? NO.

Take everyones advice, stay out of the registry... unless you have a backup of everything and have the reinstallation disk sitting next to you.
