I am dual booting between XP and Vista 64bit.Both are installed on the same drive in two different partitions. The drive is failing I'm sure because I'm hearing the clicking sound and this morning when I booted up I got a message that the OS was missing. After tapping lightly on the drive it started working . My question is should I put my operating system on 2 separate drives ? If so how is this done compared to the way I have it now. That way if one fails I can still boot with the other until I get it replaced. Thanks for your help.

It's up to you... Two drives or two partitions; both are pretty much the same thing. I've never been too fond of partitions as I always end up wishing I'd made one larger, but then two drives means there's twice the chance that one will fail.
