Need Laptop Advice!

Hello, I need some expert advice and I know I can find that here. I am considering buying a gaming laptop that is lightweight and portable and the only one that caught my eye so far is the 4.5 pound M11x from Alienware. I am aware that I am paying for the brand. However I do have a few questions. The standard build for this Laptop is
Intel i5 2537M (1.4GHz/3MB cache)
4GB2 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
320GB hard drive
1GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce® GT 540

If you guys could tell me what is worth upgrading for an all around decent machine, that would be great. I am on a budget so nothing crazy now. However if you have another idea for a better, cheaper laptop and wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction that would be great. Thank you for your time and patience.

Cheers,
Keir.

welcome to forums. please post what you would like to be able to do, and how much you are prepared to pay.

alienware is good quality, if a little overpriced. the m11x does look like quite a good laptop and should be enough. good choice

I bought in october 2006 year Laptop Inspiron 9400 Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 17" for 3040 CAD include 2 years extended warranty, it was good pakage. I was happy one week, from next week I've discovered for 3 years DELL company as expremly fake and not reliable. I've had regularly crash "BLUE SCREEN" laptop. I've called to technical support usually average 3 times a week in during 3 years. I was very bored and exhausted to hear for hours not experienced advises about virosis, how to reinstall Windows and bla, bla, bla ... . Eventually my computer was repaired 2 times motherboard, LCD screen, battery, HDD. My laptop was broken next 3 time during warranty, unfortunately I was outside Canada and did not have ability to rich DELL tecnical support centre. My warranty was expired in 2009 year but my problems the same. Price to fix my sick motherboard 499 CAD + tax so my laptop easy to throw out of the window. I bought SONY laptop recently for my wife and going to buy new laptop ASUS G73JW-A1 for myself but never DELL. I whould not recommend DELL so expensive, not reliable, bad service in computer market.
