so i got this laptop on trade, it is an HP dv2000. sometimes it boots to the windows loading screen, then it shuts down instantly. sometimes it doesnt even post. but when it gets the the windows screen, there is a red line going up the screen. so i thought the screen was bad, BUT, i got into the bios and it wasnt there. i was in the bios for about 15 minutes, and it never shut down. i have read that it may be a bad bios, and i may need to update it?
is there a way to update the bios WITHOUT going into windows? like some sort of bootable flash drive or cd?
worst case scenario, i have to buy a new mobo, because it is 814 days out of warranty, lol
thanks in advance
