MacBook Pro 13" is a good contender in the Laptop/Notebook field (Extremely Sexy, Lovely feel, Nice design, etc) . Sure if you don't want a laptop but a gaming laptop (Tends to be heavier, etc) go for that. The MacBook Pro will game. And it has a a 7 hour battery. Now it does run OS 10 but theres bootcamp. If you really want to game look into the Alienware M11X.

If you'll be using a backpack so weight doesnt matter and you don't care about battery life, I'd go with this toshiba and buy an auto/air power adapter (assuming you don't own blurays).

The 13" mac would be way to small to enjoy movies on, especially if 2 people have to watch it.

it does have an ips display :good:

I like the mac but 13inch is to small for me. I want no smaller then a 15 and no bigger then a 17 weight does not matter to me. I would like the batt to be able to last about 5 hours as that is the longest of any flights i take

Excellent pick, +1. I almost bought a mac, glad I didnt. There hardware is out of date by pc standards. The Dell I bought listed in my signature was the same price and is far more powerful than a mac plus I got a two year warrenty included in the price. Macs are nice but they are a little behind these days. And if your also in the market for a mp3 player to go with that laptop I would recommend the money you will save from buying a pc over a mac you should get those new hd zune. I love mine. zune software run's way better than itunes on a pc.

yeah i dont think iam ready for a mac yet. Iam leaning toward the toshiba or the asus N61JQ-X1 (more so the toshiba) any more suggestions guys.

If you want more than 5 hours, you would need something like Asus UL80Vt-A1 / Acer timeline/ MSI X-Slim . But I doubt these would allow you to game.
The Asus UL80Vt-A1 would probably allow you to do some slight gaming
Both Toshiba and asus N61JQ would probably having 2-3 hrs battery life.

Dell Studio XPS 1640

Ok I'm not trying to spam you here I just think this will be what you want. The computer is used but it is nearly brand new and has no problems. It has a blue ray player, the best graphics I could get for it, the highest resolution screen I could get (1080p), and Windows 7 home premium. I played Call of duty modern warfare on it once with the highest settings and it did not even hesitate. Movies are absolutely stunning on this screen too! It has around 3 hours of battery life and still comes under warranty along with 5 more months of accidental protection from Dell. :good: To be honest, it is one of the sleekest PC designs out there for how powerful the build is. I love this computer, but have to sell it to buy other things for college. You can "buy it now" or I will consider your best offer. Thanks.

No way, the toshiba is much better. He'd be better off getting an internal bluray for $100 than buying a refurbished ell off ebay.
