Need major help here. Building a computer.

Alright I am new into building computers and had a buddy help me pick out parts to build one(will not be doing that again) and it isn't working, some parts have not been compatible with others so I am guessing that is the case, is it possible I can post the parts I have and find out what is wrong, or anywhere I can go to do something like this?
I just stumbled on this website so sorry if I have missed anything.

I think that's it, the goal was a gaming computer, and the issue is it is turning on but no video.

The parts he picked aren't that bad. CPU is pretty old and outdated, especially compared to the rest of the system, but not horrible. It is also all compatible and should work. Check this guide out.

The CPU is probably old due to it being one I had to pick myself in that "I don't care mood" because the original one, same case as the RAM, was uncompilable

Yeah the CPU and RAM both work with the motherboard. You don't have a compatibility issue. Probably something else. Guide is very informative and should help.

Oh also when I turn it on it has no beep codes, also it will not power off correctly I have to turn it off by holding the button.

You won't hear any beep codes unless you have a system speaker attached to the motherboard. When you built the system did you use the brass standoffs between the case and motherboard?

CPU is HELLA old... but it will all work.

Have you made sure you plugged the PCI Express connector(s) into the graphics card?

Whenever I get a chance today I will just try to connect everything again and see how that goes.

hello little update if someone can see this thank you, but I plugged everything in and still got nothing but a blank screen, I looked at the book for the graphics card and it says something about installation, any ideas?

Try reseating your graphics card. Which slot are you using for your graphics card?

Into the PCI slot, only one on the board.

If it's not the top one, put it on the top one. What card is it you have? It needs to be in a PCI Express slot.

OK try taking out RAM sticks and then try building the system on a cardboard box and see if the same thing happens. Also try using the integrated video if you can, just so we can be sure you don't have a bad video card.
