I currently have a Acer Aspire One 722 BZ197. Im using it to write for college, i have music and a few short videos stored on it. Since the day i got this computer is has been very slow and often freezes. I'm on a budget and looking for a computer that has more storage and will be a bit faster. Can anyone recommend a better computer? I've looked at both the Acer C7 Chromebook (C710-2055) and the Lenovo G580. Can anyone give me some advice on what laptop would be best? I would rather not spend more then $500.

Here are some questions:

1. What are you going to use it for?
2. What screen size are you thinking about?

You have to specify where you would use it for? For gaming? For Browsing?
Need huge disc space? Etc.

It would be a huge help in decision making.

It looks like he is going to be using it for word processing, basic multi-media, and most likely some web browsing. You're going to want to look for something that has at least 4GB or RAM if you do not want it to be slow while multitasking. I also recommend a dual core processor with a speed of no less than 1.6GHZ preferably over 2. Intel is usually the best value in consumer laptops. I personally prefer Dell and HP, but Acer and lenovo have some decent models, just check hardware and specs.

Narrowed down to 4

I did some research and narrowed the search to 4 computers on Newegg. 2 are AMD, and 2 are Intel... They are 4-6GB of RAM, have 500+ GB of storage, and are pretty decent at processing..

They all fall within the $400 price bracket! You can take a look here: http://gyazo.com/f9d663cfb99f696776461e68e3e21fff

or search individual manufacturer's websites for more laptops.

PS: I would go with the Acer Aspire V3-551 if I were you! You can upgrade RAM and upgrade the OS whenever you feel like it :)
