I just bought a brand new EVGA nForce 680i SE SLI 775 TR. I recently found out that my motherboard is no good. So now I am looking to get a new motherboard that is reliable and will work with my Intel Q6600 (quad-core) 2.4GHz CPU. It also seems like the 680i's are all junk, am I wrong? What should I buy?

I'm using the Asus P5N32-E SLI board and aside from upgrading the bios to current one and making sure my memory was compatible , there have been no problems. All Asus boards are memory picky. I think the 680I is a good chipset.I'm waiting for the new Quads to come out so I can upgrade and I'll keep my board.

I have read a bunch of reviews about people constantly having to replace them. As for memory being compatible, the only thing that should matter are the pin count, wether its ddr2 or something different, and the number like PC6400 for ex. Right?

Some boards are picky as to what brand you can use. I always check with the manufacture to see what they say will work with the board I'm looking to purchase. I'm using Corsair XMS PC6400C4 DDR2 800 on my board. All I had to do was set the voltage and my timings manually and from there I never had any problems.
