need new MOBO but need info.....

Hey guy this is my first post obviously....
Basicaly Im a little on the underfunded side And I need a Mobo that can keep up with my games/Programs Im currently running a MSI MS-6398 Ver. 100
and an intel PGA478 pentium 4 2.4 Ghz overclocked to 2.8Ghz
Im also running 768mb ddr 400 ram and an ATI 256mb 9550 set at 4X (max for mobo)
The only real problem I have is while run a game another program switches on and brings game play to slowmo which really sucks
Any ideas on solutions that wont break the bank...?
I was thinking obviously a CPU with bigger FSB but I think the Mobo wont go any faster than it is now...
Your help is much apriciated....:D
 
Depends what you want. Intel or AMD. Intel is good for multitasking and ok for games where AMD is ok for multitasking and good for games. From this day forward i might just say ermmmmmmm amd possibly are maybe going to be my next choice. Or maybe a bit of both on one of those new motherboards.
