Need new System stuff

Warning: I am completely ignorant of all things computer. Try to not use too many technical terms, else I'll have to dictionary.com them

Okay, so I really want to play Gears of War, the Halos, and Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions on my computer, but it's about 4 years old, and it was the cheapest dell had to offer, so I KNOW I'll need some better stuff than what I have now.

Here's what I have PC wise:

Pentium 4 CPU 2.53 GHz
2.52 GHz, 256 MB of RAM

and it's an XP.....I bet I probably need to give more info for anyone to really help me, and if you do, then could ya tell me how to find it?

Your probably just better off starting from scratch and building a new computer. But you could upgrade the processor, power supply, ram, graphics card, motherboard. And then you would need to buy vista.

I would sell what you have, and put that towards a new system. In order to play those games, you will probably need to spend at least 600$.
 
I agree with Oregon. You'd have to replace almost everything to get that system in shape, a fresh build would be the best idea. Is this what you're looking for? You could pull off a very good $800-$1000 build.. budget notwithstanding, and with our help.

Yes, agree upgrade everything, build your own computer. Pentium 4, mmm, not good for gaming :rolleyes: And you WILL need more ram even If you are not going to play games because if you want Windows Vista, it's a very demanding OS, so get at least 2GB of ram IMO
