need operating system - dell latitude C800

finally got my dell latitude c800 up and working (motherboard replacement), but i don't have an operating system. the harddrive was erased. i know that dells are different and you must have a dell operating system. i don't have a product key tag on the bottom of the laptop or i would call dell and see if i could get the software to install. does anyone have software for sale or know where i could buy it.
 
You don't need a "dell operating system"... You can install off of any windows disk, you will just need to have your resource disk to install your device drivers(or download them) that was bundled with your laptop when you got it. I have reinstalled windows on my dell 2400 several times with a regular windows xp pro disc, and have had no problems.
 
Yea you don't need an O/S from Dell. I've got a copy of XP Home that came with my Dell. I don't use it cause I bought XP Pro.
