Need opinion on $1200 gaming/work build

You are going to wish you coughed up a little more for a decent MOBO and CPU. I would even buy a $40 GPU for now and get a decent i5-760/ ASUS P55 MOBO then bump up the GPU when you can, or go 1366. Plus you cant SLI in the future if you want more GPU power with that set up.

That CPU (AMD 630) and micro MOBO sucks (no offense). The problem is you are buying OEM W7 and you cant change your MOBO when you figure out you want a better set up without buying a new W7 copy.

Edit, you cannot compare AMD ratings to Intel, their 2.8 vs 2.66 have nothing to do with anything.

the i5 still a little expensive, I found a slightly better board(i think) coupled with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz which seems like it would be a big improvement over the 630 for about $60 more. Also according to newegg specs I should be able to run 1600 with this set-up instead of 1333(would I see any difference though?).

If you are going to stick with AMD you need to ask for help with your MOBO. Trust me on this, if you get a cheep one with limited options you will be sorry.

1600 vs 1333 DDR3 is too close to call. Plus you can OC most DDR3 to 1600. Just get a good brand.
