(Need a good power supply suggestion or two )

Hey guys I am trying to wrap up building a Video Editing machine that I have ordered some of the parts for and am about to
order the rest for and here is what I am looking at so far:

Processor: i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz

Motherboard: ASUS sabertooth z77

RAM : Most likely " Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800)" -- Unless you can suggest something better

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Internal Desktop Hard Drive

SSD: Crucial M500 240GB SATA 2.5-Inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal Solid State Drive

Graphics Card: Most likely EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked with ACX Cooler 4 GB GDDR5 256-Bit Dual-Link DVI-I/DVI-D HDMI DP SLI Ready Graphics Card

I am looking for a good suggestion or two for a solid deal on a power supply that will power this machine and won't break the bank.

Thanks a lot!

That's a good option as is the Corsair CX 600M which is modular and a bit cheaper.

XFX have some good units in that kind of price range, check them out.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the responses!

Questions: I am seriously considering the Corsair tx650 that John suggested. Price is good enough and that's not my concern. I am just wondering if that's enough power for the suggested build? If you guys confirm that it is I'll go ahead and grab it. Sorry for the ignorance. I have a friend who is going to physically put the computer together as he used to do it for a living and I am just buying the parts that people have recommended to be good for a video editing system. I am wondering what do people get things like 1000 W PSUs for?

Thanks again

This one. With the rebate its a good deal. As far as a high wattage power supplies. Its for running highend cards as in SLI or Crossfire setups

Enter your parts into PCpartpicker.com and they'll give you a wattage estimate :)

And Rosewill makes some really decent PSUs. I would stay away from there sub 50 dollar models as a general rule, but most of there higher end models are pretty good.

Rosewill is a house brand of Newegg and are made from various manufacturers, most are gargbage, some are passable. Most of the 'good' ones are not good at all. Forget brand and understand specifications and technology.

Poor idea as wattage tells you very little.

It will give you a general idea of what kinda of power you will need. Its not like it can tell you exactly what power supply to get.

I disagree. Half of those are garbage.

What ones particularly are you claiming to be garbage? Antec, Seasonic, and PC Power and Cooling are all 3 top name brands for quality from every review I have read on their products. And I have owned 3 Antec power supplies in my building history and never had a problem with any of them. And my current Antec is going on its 8th year of service.

Their newest line of PSUs are actually quite good. I forgot the name of the series, but they've received very good reviews from reviewers - and most are gold rated.
Any, other than the newest, are complete garbage though.

A general good and bad list like that isn't to realistic. Sure about all of Seasonic and CWT are good power supplies. But like just naming HEC/Sparkle/Enermax/Powerman/Silverstone/NSpire/Thermaltake and a few others you have on the good list. Sure they make some decent PSU, but they make some junk ones too. Just going by brands is not a good idea, unless most of the models are made by Seasonic or CWT. Most companies use multiple manufacturers.
