wow, it's been a while since i've been here. new job and all. anyways hi to all, and thanks in advance for your advice.

i'm finally giving up my fx-60 and going intel. it seems my board finally bit the bullet. i ripped the htpc from the living room, and am using it in the mean time, so i need to do something in the next week or so. i'm selling my cpu and ram on ebay, and doing a major upgrade.

i'm keeping my drives, my 1000w psu, and my 2 8800gtx cards. i'm pretty sure i'll be going with a qx9650, but can't decide on the board and ram. i wanna go ddr3, and keep sli, but the 790i seems to be having issues when it comes to overclocking and ram. are there any alternatives?

the only other thing i can think of is to go with the 780i and run ddr2. either way, i'm liking the evga boards. maybe there's something else, i don't know. any thoughts would be appreciated. cost doesn't matter, i want to do it right and not have to worry about it for awhile. i'll be running a dual boot, xp and vista, if that matters.

I've been using the evga 790i for about a month its a great board.
I didn't try to oc yet so I cant say much about that.
The memory issue I had was it read my ram at 1066 instead of 1333 I changed the speed, timing, voltage to what it should be and it ran perfectly after that.
