Need some advice on this build

I'm planning on building a gaming computer but I need some advice my budget is around 1000-1300$

I need some advice on this build:

Processor: INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9550 2.83G/1333/12M/S775
Motherboard: ASUS P5E DELUXE X48 PCIE
Ram: KINGSTON KVR 1333MHZ DDR3 4GO KIT
HDD: Western Digital SATA2 1.0TB
Vid card: ??? ( geforce GTX 280 maybe?)
Case: ATX Antec 300 ( not really important)
 
with $1300 you could do an i5 or i7 rig with a 5850 (directx 11) :D

Se change that cpu to an i5-750 or i7-860, motherboard to one with a P55 chipset, the RAM you can keep, HDD you can keep, get a 5850 as a gpu, and that's about it.

what about windows?
 
How about your psu have you thought about that? Nvidia recommends 550 watt psu for that card. You could get a nice psu from corsair or you could get a cheaper but still reliable thermaltake litepower psu - depending on how you go with ur budget.

Also are you getting a monitor / keyboard / mouse / speakers / OS?
 
The i5-750 with ASUS P7P55T (MOBO number is close) is faster. Like said above the 5850 is faster than the GTX 280 and GTX 285, plus it cost less.
