I am on a cheap budget. I plan on spending less that $300 between the cpu and mobo
Should I go with AMD or intel for a cpu?
for AMD I would have to use an AM2 socket because I alredy have DDR2 ram.
for Intel I dont "need" a new cpu but duel core is cheap
So basicaly, what would be best in the long run, AMD or Intel?

I dont play a ton of games but I still like to be able play at a decent quality.
I'd say 40% games 30% 3d programming and such 30% internet

Mobo is a bit overkill. And wait till amd prices drop they will drop a ton and you will be very happy about it. Effective July 24.

Or, you could get this cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103633

and this mobo:

That gives you a total of $265. That mobo is a bit of an overkill, but it's a nice, sold, board.
Mobo is big overkill. You could get a better cpu for the extra you save on the mobo.
Quote: (YO-YO) That would require me to buy ddr ram. That would add to the cost.
???? It is socket am2 so your ddr2 would work with the amd.

I'm a bit concerned about the issue most of the people are having with the ASUS board. see the reviews. If this problem shows up with me, how would I fix it? It seemes to be a ram issue
