Need some good help (graphics)

This isn't really a Hl2 question, but this is the game I want to play in general.

Ok, I have a bougth version of HL2 and it installed fine without any problems. But when I go to play it, all the enemies and models don't show up on my screen. Even in the main menu, I can't see the guards walking around and I only see a floating light blinking red and I guess thats supposed to be that thing that alerts the guards of your presence / blinds you. I don't see the poles in the ground, and when I start a new game, I don't see that guy with the brif case or the damn seats in the train. I can see the buildings / structures / floor around me though.

Specs

AMD 64 3200+ Xp home
1gb PC3200 ram
200gb HD
Intergrated SiS mirage2 graphics with 128mb shared vid memory
e-Geforce 6800 128mb 8x agp - replaced the integrated graphics

I THINK I have the right Nvidia drivers. When I check in device manager (the integrated video doesn't even show up), it says the 6800 is working properly, and the driver is 7.7.7.7 (even though I downloaded and installed the 77.77 drivers from the Nvidia site) .

This problem applys to other games too (IGI 2). But this problem does not occure when I play Serious Sam. Currently, my computer case is open, and the card/PSU seems to be in correctly.

If you aren't fimiliar with this game, there are supposed to be like 20 seets in this car. Also, there a guy with a breifcase talking right at me. But I don't see him anywhere. The reason I know hes there is because I played the demo on my old computer. That had a integrated Geforce 4mx + my gf6 and it had no mix ups like this.

Ummmm..... a 128 mb GeForce 6800???? Don't they only come in 256 mb???

O well, as for your problem, when did u get the video card??? Does this happen in all games or just BF2 and HL2???

Try Counter Strike Source. Does it do that there too?? If it does this in all of your games, try updating the drivers of your vid card, if it is updated and it still happens in all of your games, maybe your got a bad video card, try sending it back if it is under warranty.
 
well.. most brands have 1 year warranty, so i think that should work.
but is it in all games is the question ;)

and yes, the 6800 is in 128 and 256 Mb (the ultra is in 256 and 512 ;) )
 
Ok I fixed it. Unlike some people here, I will post what the hell was wrong.


All I needed to do was update my drivers for my AMD 64 3200+. I don't know why that did anything, but aparantly it works!!!
