with the large squiggly lines and i have tried updating everything and that doesnt work i also applied my graphics hardware acceleration to none but then i cant play the game at all so i was really hoping someone could help

I'd check the physical connection of your monitor, make sure it isn't loose. Also, are you overclocking?

If your friend overclocked it, I'd get him back and make sure he undid anything he tried! That definetly looks like a failed overclock or a failing card.

well the only problem with that would be that i moved to hong kong and he still lives in california but it worked fine for a long time after he overclocked it.... this thing just started happening recently after i left my computer on overnight with a game accidentally running then in the morning it looked like this... but if it was a failing graphics card wouldnt everything be messed up? not just games

Looks as though your card got fried because he OCed it. It could have been running too hot and fried it over time.

yeah thats a great card, cant believe its failing. if you left it on overnight anything could have happened though. look up on newegg for the default specs and set it back to that with ATI tool or coolbits

my brothers old agp card was failing but it would only crash the system if a 3d app was running(so the desktop worked fine)sounds similar to yours only you aren't crashing just the lines

so can i like complain to EVGA becuase the card is a year and a day old but has been failing for a long time... will they send me a new one?

i dont understand how to use those programs it just extracts the files and then it tells me all about my computer

No, because you OCed it. Overclocking immediatly voids any warranties.
