Hello.

Well, I am from India

I have seen a laptop MSI GT725 on eBay.com that is from US

I am from India. So, rest everything is fine. But. this laptop has a 802.11b/g/n connection. So, I need some help regarding what all things I need to set up a WiFi connection when I get it from USA.

I am from India So, please keep this thing in mind. If you need some more clarifications let me know.

Although I have a connection here but it is just 256 kbps and very slow. As I have seen everyeone says WiFi gives around 54-108 Mbps that is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy toooooooooooooooooooooo much for me. I have never even used 512 kbps in my life..!

So, please mention all things I need to setup a WiFi connection here and how will I use it here?

Thanks in advance..

Well, first off you're going to be in a different frequency spectrum over there. Over here the FCC gives us an 11 channel block of the 2.4ghz specturm. In order for it to work with the hardware you buy over there you'll probably have to replace the WiFi card with something from your country. Secondly, WiFi is typically used to share / broadcast an existing internet connection among other things. So you'll still only have 256k to the internet. You may be able to get 54 or 108 depending on your hardware but that is strictly the connection between you and the WiFi access point. Not the connection between you and the internet. So the only time you'd be able to pull that high of speed is if you were transfering files to another computer on your local network. I hope that clears up a few things. Other than possibly getting a replacement WiFi card for the laptop you'll need a wireless router to connect to what ever device you use to connect to the internet (cable / dsl modem / some equivilant)
