Need some help please?

I am working on a DEll Pc for a friend and she can't remember her Adminstrative password is there any way to get around this or do I have to reformat.
 
what does she have to recover? You can usually recover stuff from my documents just by simply putting the harddrive in another computer.
 
use the guest account
or as liuliuboy told you put the hard drive in another computer and recover all you want
 
Her Pc has a virus on it and I need to do a system restore but it will not let me because she does not remember her administrator password. Logging on as aguest does not let me in to do this.

Boot to safe mode. When you get to the login screen you should see an account called administrator. This usually doesnt have a password you can run what you need from there and why your at it, change her admin password for her. ;)
