Need some help PLEASE!!!

OK, I've been having spyware issues for the past few days so I decided to boot in safe mode and to run Spybot S&D. I did so, if found some, fixed it. Then I formatted one of my secondary drives. I used the power pbuton to restart the computer, now it won't come on at all. I have read similair posts on some forums, including this one with no resolution. My specs are as follows:
ASUS A8N-SLI Delux mobo
Athlon 64 X2 4800+
3 gigs od OCZ DDR RAM
2 Internal Western Digital drives, one is EIDE the other is SATA
1 External Seagate HD
Radeon 512meg X1800 video card
Soundblaster Audigy X-Fi Platinum sound card
WindowsXP Home SP2

Here is what I've tried:
I re-seated all RAM and PCI cards (no luck)
I unplugged all the cards ,RAM, and harddrives one by one (no luck)
Reset CMOS by removing the battery (no luck)
Shorted the power switch jumper (no luck)
The only thing working is the green LED near the CMOS battery. It stays on unless I unplug the power supply. This system is less than 6 months old, so I am tearing my hair out!!! Any help would be VERY appreciated! TIA
 
Formatting a secondary drive wouldn't stop a system from at least displaying the bios screen with a failure to detect hard disk type message. With nothing at all but the green led showing power is present it sounds more like the board or cpu gave out at that time. For the cpu a constant audio alert or onscreen cpu failure message would be the thing to expect for that. A failed bios eprom, main chipset, or even blown capacitors would be the thing to look at. Inspect the board for any signs of component failure.
 
Well, I looked and didn't see any bulged capacitors or brown goo, no weird smells. Could it be the PSU?
 
The green led could well be a little misleading since it is showing power available even though the supply may be too weak to run the system. But you should have at once seen some indication of the system trying to start up. I am forced to look at the board even with no bad caps as the problem. Usually the led shows that there is eniough to start even if it only makes it to the bios screen. Sometimes a cap or chip will go bad without any visible signs.
 
OK, I replaced the PSU and it's posting, but now it's saying "Error Loading OS" I have no problem with formatting if thats what I need to do. I DID flash the CMOS by removing the battery, so is there maybe something I need to reset in the BIOS? Or will I have to reformat? Thanks for all the responses, you rule!!!
 
If u press the power button and if u dont get anything on the screen then its failing to boot from the specified primary disk.
If u dont get any power supply going into the cpu then it might be the problem with the power supply. Buy a new power supply from one of the store and try to run it.Because the green light in the motherboard lits up bcas of the small watch battery in it.
 
Well, I was planning on formatting this weekend anyways. So I did and it's working fine! I appreciate all the help & advice!! :0)
 
You could try a repair install rather then reformat unless you want a clean start again. At least you found the problem there was with a bad supply and not having to replace a bad board. The repair install would save the existing folders, files, and generally only needs a reinstall of board, video, and sound on occasion. Glad to see you got it running again.
