Need Some Online Buying Advice

I've never had any problem buying online, I'd say 80% of my purchases of computer and stereo related equipment were online, whether new or used/refurbished and I've always been satisfied. As a rule of thumb though, and this is where I need anyones advice, I won't buy something unless I've read several positive reviews on it online. I just saw several core 2 refurbished desktops from Dell, HP & Gateway online between $329-$429, from legit sites but the thing is, when I google the model number, though I see anywhere from 75-2000 entries on them, I see absolutely no reviews on them, NADA. I should note that I only do basic stuff on the computer (Internet, download, etc.) not gaming or graphics work. Would you advise me not to buy any computer, even if its by a name brand, if you don't see any reviews on it? Is there any point calling the Manufacturer up and asking about their now (I'm assuming) deleted computer as I can't see them telling me not to buy it, it sucks? Thanks for your help.

If I were you I'd get a list of the key specs of the computer and use that as a basis for evaluating it. Provided you can ascertain that the specs would be adequate for your usage (and well priced), I don't see much harm in buying without a review.
