well the computers 35, but with all the other shit i want to get it about 39.... i think it would be worth it tho in the long run, to save me from having to buy another computer in the next 4 yrs again. is there any other computer company you guys suggest??

i say you jus build your own, it saves you lots of money from labor charges and whatnot...plus you can always upgrade it to your liking every 2 years or so.

build a cheaper computer now, upgrade as parts come along. computers parts worth deteriorates rapidly, so get a $1000 setup now, which is sufficient for any games, and then add later when new, more efficient cards and chips etc come out. your needs will change too, so buy what you need.

That computer needs upgrades as soon as you get it...the 4850 will struggle with the newer games already. In a year you'll be playing games on lowest res possible.

$3,900 for a computer with a Core i7 and a 4850 graphics card...LOL

Absolutely not! You have to find something else or build your own...that would be a complete waste of money for an "Elite HP"

There are many people here that will help you choose parts and help you build your own. You can get twice the computer for half the price.

thanks for your help guys.. I use my computer mainly for music, pictures, video editing and movie stuff.. when i build up my own computer, do i have to buy a motherboard specifically for for tower? or are they pretty much universal?? thanks!

Most likely this is an ATX form factor motherboard, so yes, you could buy any ATX style motherboard and it would fit. Some ATX cases support both ATX and Micro-ATX (Smaller Form Factor).

Bomberboy knows Newegg better than anybody here...he will point you in the right direction as far as parts.

That's cool you have decided to build your own...there are tons of people here that will walk you through step by step:D

You could easily build one for probably 4 times less than you would be paying to get it pre-made, and putting computers together really isnt too hard either

haha sweet guys. im going to start really looking into this. i will post up pics and stuff if it happens soon enough to where youll remember me as the guy with the 4 grand HP lol.. but thanks for everyones help.. ill start to plan this out this week then : )

another thing, idk if this helps the process. i work at a computer place that recycles computers. Im the one and only man that takes all the computers apart and places each recyclable part and puts them in the appropriate bin. Sohard drives in one, motherboards etc etc etc.. Would it be worth it to take a closer look at any of the stuff that i run by and put it in my pocket? i run into 512 ram all the time and usually take those. lol.. The year for computers really vary. some from like early 90s to XP. nothing vista yet.. i have seen some homemade builds go buy.. should i take a case next time? thanks..

I would look at every part I touched...there is still a market for older computer parts:D Not to mention the stuff people will throw away not knowing what they have.;)

You can mod and paint almost any ATX case to look really nice and suite your needs.
