Hi I just installed ALL the crap on my new comp and i need to install windows n stuff..

OK first thing I did when I booted was checked out BOIS i ddnt change anything because boot order was ...1.removable 2.cd and 3 HDD
then i started and it said boot from cd and told me
"DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

wtf is system disk?
I put in the windows xp cd but it told me the same thing :(
IDK what system disk can be some 1 plz help me....

You don't happen to have a disk in the removable drive, do you?

The CDROM isn't recognizing the CD you inserted as a bootable. This means either your CD isn't a bootable install disc, the CD is damaged or otherwise corrupted, or the CDROM drive is not working corrrectly.

you have to press a key to boot from CD when it asks you

what you're getting showing up is only because you have no operating system installed yet

make sure the jumpers are set properly on your cd drive and make sure it's showing up in BIOS

i dont understand...the jumper on cd drive is on master....and when I put in the windows xp pro cd it keeps giving me that message...I tried modifying boot startup to cd then removable then hdd ..
also removable cd then hdd and nothing...
Maybe I need to buy the Oem of windows xp??
But when I put the disk in my current crapy comp it works fine :(
lol and I do press enter when it tell me and it gives me this message
"DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"
so idk I mean I tried EVERYTHING!!!!
are you guys sure that the system disk is the windows xp cd?

and I dont understand what U mean jerkstore by
"what you're getting showing up is only because you have no operating system installed yet"

lol im trying to install the OS
god this is soo frustrateing because it took me soo long to get this hook up and now it does not work..

Has any1 here ever built a comp from scratch?
maybe they can help me because I need this to work like tomorrow because ..yeah game time :(

plz reply as soon as possible..THANKS!!

ok well this is going to be a lot of repeating what's been said. Your bootable windows xp disk IS your system disk. Try the disk in your old computer again, if it autoruns there and brings you to something xp-whatever, it should boot. If it doesn't autorun there, probably your files aren't in a proper state for the computer to understand what to do. I think I read where the cd drive is recognized in the bios, so that shouldn't be giving you problems, if you have multiple cd/dvd drives, did you try it in each? Try making your boot priority to the disk drives first again, it shouldn't matter really but it might help. If none of this works, it sounds to me like you need another Windows disk.

If you have two slots on your mobo, try and plug the cd drive and the hard drive in with two different cables, if you already ahvent done that yet.
