need something to cool down my 30w pentium

be fore i had the 1ghz i had a 866 pIII that ran at 23w and after a movie would be at about 112 degrees but with this cpu (1ghz) it's 114.2 at IDLE!! so i need a better cooling system cuz it runs slow as hell (the throttling is 37-100% which i think is slowing it down due to heat) i have a budget of about 25$ all help and links are appreciated

1. PentiumIII's had throttling? What's the core on that chip?
2. What voltage are you running through that proc?

is the heatsink on? I have never heard of any cpu reaching the 110 deg marker let alone a P3...unless thats fareinheit

it's a coppermine-t core the core voltage is 1.75v ...and well sandra says it has throttling, so i was taking that in as the reason it was slowing down when it got hot and yes, it is ferinheight

that's hot for a P3 but not so hot that it will throttle. there must be a problem with the heatsink mounting or the fan

866MHz to 1GHz isn't a big enough jump to warrant such a big heat increase to overwork the heatsink+fan
