need specific mobo please help

What doesn't your current motherboard support? It support ddr3, supports some am2+ cpus and will support a dual slot video card.

I'm not sure I have a am2+ processor , it needs a am3+ one to support ddr3 cause it can use either 2 or 3 but I have a single slot 9800gt in it , when I tried to put a gtx270 that I have in it , it wouldn't boot and I looked it up and it said that it doesn't support dual slot cards , if somebody can find some info otherwise that would be great but I haven't yet

I couldn't get it to work with a dual slot card with my current setup, if there is something i need , would like some advice on this, running a am2+ dual core and ddr2 ram 4gb.

Does the video card require any 6 pin pci express power connections? Looks like it needs 2 power connections. Your computer will support a dual slot card as long as you don't use the pci slot directly below the video card slot.

Yeah it does, but I have a 850 watt psu, with the power connectors required, I'm using the blue pci expresss connector, cause I took out my current card out and put in the newer card and the system wouldn't boot. I wouldn't need a newer processor would I, because I know in order to use ddr3 I need a am3+ CPU in the system.

If you have the am2+ cpu installed, you must use ddr2 as it doesn't support ddr3. ddr3 would be for am3 cpu's. Are you sure the video card works?

Yeah I'm sure , cause my friend used it in his system and it worked perfectly. Just can't get it to work in mine for some reason, and I can't figure out why like at all. Any ideas ?

The card needs two PCIe power connectors, Do you have both or just one power connector plugged into it?

Overkill for your setup but should still work. What exactly happens with the card attached when you turn it on? It could be possble that the power connections from the power supply are bad.

nothing specific happens, just the computer will start up but with no video, like none at all, not sure why. its a modular power supply so the ones that go into the video card arent always attached unless the card is in there, and i have only used them a few times i dont think they would have went bad that quickly

Does the fan on the video card run when turning on the machine? Have you tried another video card to make sure that the pci express slot is good?

thank you all for your advice, i got the newer card working in my system, not sure what it was just gave it one last shot and it actually worked which was good, i think it might have been that both of the 6pin power connectors weren't attached to the card, but thank you all for your contribution to think thread
