Need suggestions buying a laptop

It really depends on what kind of "work" you do. What things do you do for work? (word processing, special programs you run...just give us an idea of what you are talking about)
When buying a laptop on a budget there really is two way to go about it. Bigger screen and less power or little screen and more power. Will a 15.4" screen be ok or do you need a little bigger 17" screen?

I would recommend a Dell Inspiron 1525, you can get one for 479$. Or if you want something smaller and just as nice I would recommend a net book like the Dell mini 9 or 12 but only if you won't need a disc drive. Mini 9 = 299$ and mini 12 = 399$. These are all base line models but nice for your needs.
