I want to stay nvidia based, and this will be going in a Storm enforcer case with blue LED fans. I don't know if I will overclock so I don't know if should buy a 2500k or not.

Do you need to include OS?
I don't think $800 is enough. You would probably looking at $900 - 1000 if you want to include OS with decent video card and your prefered parts

Thats what i recommend. I changed the motherboard and Ram to save money to put towards the K version of the CPU. after the mail in rebates, this build is under 800. But if you put all these parts into your cart, you get a few bonuses as well. im always glad to recieve free goodies.

A bit of a lazy post, but I will certainly answer questions.

Assuming this is purely for hardware, so no OS:

Total after MIR: $820

It is slightly outside of budget, but you can drag it to with in by getting 4GB of memory instead of 8, which will hold you out absolutely fine. You can always throw another set in later on, so 8GB right now isn't essential, it is just a nice "extra"

@Icey:

It is a good effort, but I changed a lot of stuff for some very good reasons:

1. Antec cases, the 300 especially, has awful cable management. I have never recommended an Antec case to a customer, and it has been a hell of a long time since I have done on here for that very reason, and until they sort that out, I never will recommend them.

2. The GTX460 is only slightly more than the 5830 is, but it offers much better price/performance, and if overclocked will give you performance on par with, and sometimes exceeding, that of a 5850

3. The Corsair GS series are not on the performance of the "older" Corsair units, and not even close to the cheaper SeaSonic unit I posted

4. Performance difference between the memory is negligable, yet price clearly is

v.good choice on the cooler :good:

Aasti, I like your style in component choices, i never even thought of buying an Asrock, but it seems to pack a punch at that price point.

I only see 1 real weakness - The HD, with all that high end hardware, the HD would be the bottle neck when it comes to loading games and doing video editing or even general usage.

The optical drive is a minor problem, i think spending the extra 5 dollars for a full blown DVDRW would be very beneficial. That sony drive cant even burn CDs...

Nope, the Samsung F4 320GB is on the same performance as your 10k RPM drives. You aren't going to get a quicker hard drive for that much

what ever happened to the GA-P67A-UD3P board from Gigabyte, I can't seem to find it in places besides stores and amazon.com.

Also, I don't think I will need a k series processor. I suppose the resale value is higher but I don't think I need to spend extra cash on a processor I don't need.

I'm really trying to go for a build that looks nice Inside and out here, which is why I want one of those gigabyte boards that are pretty much all black. I know the CM 690 II is a better performance case than the Storm enforcer, but I really like the enforcer haha.

The motherboard has been discontinued and pulled from all etailers and retailers due to the Intel Chipset defect. The only P67 based boards that you should buy would be the B3 Revision

Aasti - Touche! i was thinking along the lines of shaving off enough money to add a 40 or 60 gb SSD. :p But i didnt even account for a HD in my post. Whoops. Sorry
