Need Suggestions On A Tower With Power But Near Silent Operation

I am going to be buying/building online a new tower that will be in a music studio with a 3 monitor display. With the sound system I have in the studio I want to be able to game on it of course but I need a super quiet tower. I want firewire and usb as well as a few extra expansion slots. Any suggestions? I will probably buy the tower separate, followed by the screen monitors and mouse/keyboard.

Thanks!
Randy

In tower, do you mean as in a built case with hardware or just the case itself?

Not sure yet really. If there is a tower with insulation and low noise fans and everything I would want I would get it but I'm thinking that's not going to happen. That's why I asked here to see if someone knew of such an animal... a really quiet gaming pc tower or something but I will more than likely have to build it from scratch... AND when I do any tips would be appreciated on quality components and methods of insulation and cooling.

building it is cheaper and it's fun to do and it's nice to know exactly what's in it.

Now, does it have to be silent while gaming? the graphics card is fairly loud and when it draws all the power the power supply starts going too and that can be a little loud, but otherwise they are fairly quiet. If you want a silent computer then you'd need a custom water cooling loop and a good power supply.

You don't need a custom loop. Picking the right air cooling components should be quiet enough.

I would start with the Antec P183

Replace the stock fans with a few gentile typhoons and a fan controller. Dial them down when you want to do audio work and up when you are gaming.

would you feel comfortable building your own? We can help you through the process and get you a better PC for the money.

It's going to be later this year or early next year before I am able to use this pc (I'm an OTR truck driver right now) but may want to go ahead and get the ball rolling. As far as building it myself I'd rather just find a retailer that let's you "build it yourself" online, have them put it together and test it and ship it to me. I do agree I could get one better for the money but I haven't really found a site that will let me do as I described... I remember sites use to let you pick your case then > power supply > motherboard, etc. I know I want to be able to run 3 monitors. A really nice sound card... one that I can route inputs and outputs (midi, usb) as far as keyboards and monitors, etc. I know I want firewire and usb and as I mentioned really quiet. I have an i7 processor in my ASUS G73 that seems to perform well so possibly one of those or not... just need multi-core processing really, plenty of RAM and great video.

So basically yeah, I'd love help choosing the parts and then finding a site to build it.
