Need Suggestions...

A few months ago I purchased an AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor for my father's computer, only to find out that despite the motherboards manufacturers website listing the processor as compatible, it in fact was not.

So I have decided to build my own PC around this unit (current PC is 7-4 years old, depending on the part). I need a motherboard for under $200 that will work with this processor.

The only specifics I have about the rest of the machine is to use an NVidia graphics card and 8gb RAM (sizeable hard drive I imagine is understood).

This is a motherboard for:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor
3.4 GHz Quad Core
8MB Cache

to be compatible with
NVidia Graphics
4 DDR3 (DDR4 yet?) Ram slots

Within the 200$ price range. Suggestions?

A little off topic, but relevant.

I'm looking at Video Cards (on New Egg). When I search for AMD Manufacturer chipsets, all I get are PCI Express 2.1 slots, which is not what that motherboard (or the other AMD motherboards I was looking at) had. Anything with a 2.0 was Nvidia and ATI (I will not use ATI anymore).

Is it alright to be plugging an NVidia chipset card into an AMD chipset motherboard? (I am so nub, it's disgusting, I know)

Edit: Also, does an AM3+ socket (on mobo) work with an AM3 Socket processor? Is the (+) a significant variable?

any PCI express card will plug into any generation PCI Express slot. There is no issue with plugging a Nvidia card into a AMD motherboard. I use a 955 proc with a GT520 GPU daily and have yet to run into a problem with it.
