The build i'm soon buying consists of these components, Gigabyte SKT-1156 GA-H55M-UD2H Motherboard, arctic cooling freezer 7 pro rev.2, intel i3-550 dual core 3.2ghz socket 1156, 2x sharkoon silent eagle 1000 fan 120mm, BenQ 21.5 inch lcd monitor, cyber snipa silencer mouse, microsoft wireless keyboard 3000, radeon hd 5670 1gb gddr5, coolermaster elite 430 case, samsung F3 1TB Hard Drive, Komputerbay (2x4gb) 8gb 1333mhz ram, i post this as i would like any tips on if these components are compatible, if i could get alternatives with similiar performance at a lower price, and to just correct any unwise purchases, take note that i will use this rig primarily for gaming, so crysis, call of duty, portal and perhaps world of warcraft, and advice would be deeply appreciated :) thanks guys

I would recommend the sandy bridge line as a processor, mainly because you're gaming. But if you're just a softcore gamer, that i3 is good enough. But hardcore gaming really should require the i5 2500k, or even the i7 2600k if you arent afraid to spend. For the RAM, I would recommend Corsair, (corsair fanboy here xD), this one for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233147
And maybe swap that samsung HDD for a WD or Seagate. And also, just for plain convenience, I would swap that keyboard for a wired one to save having to swap batteries all the time :D
