Need tips on upgrading my comp

Specs:
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel i3 540
4GB RAM
ASUS P7P55D LE

Want to upgrade it to handle the latest PC games, I won't be able to upgrade them all so a list of which pieces that needs the most upgrades would be awesome!

You might want to think about upgrading to a new socket motherboard and then definately either a gtx580 or hd6950. Whats your budget?

well a new socket board would cost too much for the benefits don't you think when he can grab an i5 760 for about 200 usd. but other than that my first upgrade would be 8gb's since bf3 is using 6gb's and skyrim could be near there too.

other than those 2, a 6950, 560ti, 6970, 570, or 580 would be great, and otherwise it goes to johns suggestion for a new mobo and a probably 2500k, but i'd wait a few months untill you can grab a z77 mobo and a ivy bridge cpu before doing that cuz a new os liscence is needed too.

Unless you have a screen shot of bf3 using 6 gb of memory, then thats not true. Recommended system requirements are only 4gb.

pretty sure i remember multiple people on here saying this and a person linking to another forum where they were saying it used closer to 6gb's, but then again i looked it up and found several articles to the contrary. still you can grab 8 gigs for cheap so no point in not grabbing it.
