need to copy file from 1 partition to another

windows xp home sp2 wont let me log on...
so i need to back up some files before i format.
but i dont know the command...
i am in "repair" atm.
dunno where 2 go from there -_-
plsss help:)
 
Make a DOS boot disk, do it from there

To make a dos boot disk:
put an empty floppy in a floppy drive
right click on the floppy drive in My Computer
click format
check the box to "create an MS-DOS boot disk"
let it format

then put the floppy in your computer and boot it, it should go into DOS.
find the file/folder, then copy it to the other drive.
