need to diable ati apg rage 3d pro video card on motherboard.

want to install new card.....pny technologies verto

any ideas on disabling stock video card on mb?
have dell optiplex gx1

my computer, right click property, hardware, device manager, display adapter, click on the onboard vid and disable it there.

I certainly hope that, if needed, the onboard card is also disabled in the BIOS for the display (hit F2 on boot-up). If F2 doesn't work, try the delete key.

If no screen comes up and it is blank or black, try resetting the CMOS battery by unplugging the computer and popping it out of the motherboard with a screw driver for 10 seconds, and re-inserting it.

Should be able to disable it from within BIOS. Disabling it in the OS might not work, but for some computers it does. BIOS is a sure thing.

One of the F# (or function) keys should get you into BIOS, or the Del key.
