Need to reinstall EXEPLORER.EXE BROWSEUI.dll

Been following this process, and wondering why an upgrade to IE7 hasn't been mentioned? Or a repair of IE? here is a link I have used:

maybe what I am not understanding, is that IE is fine, and we are working witha dll required, but that wouldn't be reinstalled during an upgrade......

anyway good luck......and I sure hope that is a typo, otherwise someone needs to work a different route all together.

Yeah you can either boot it up in safemode and if that still doesnt work then look on google for a windows xp boot disk. and then plug in a flash drive with those to files on them. If your on your friends computer, you can easily go to C:\Windows\System32\[File Name]
and copy his explorer.exe and browseui.dll to your floppy or flash disk. then when you boot up yoru computer with whatever you may choose, copy it to your directory.

Thanks for helping me out, i thought i had a floopy drive to boot up my PC, so im booting from disc, i havent started though, im not a PC person but you mentioned flash drive? im confused if you meaning cd drive?

(MAKE SURE YOU UNZIP THE FILE FIRST BEFORE PUTTING ONTO FLOPPY)

Now turn on the PC that your having trouble with and wait for it to load up.
Then insert the floopy disc and run command prompt.
(Clt+Alt+Del then in task manager click on File then click New Task (Run...) and type command prompt then hit enter.)

In command prompt type this:

copy a:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32\

Then hit enter!

Now remove the floppy disc and close command prompt. Press Clt+Alt+Del and get the Task manager up and click on File> New Task(Run...)

Type in explorer.exe and hit enter. Fingers crossed it should all load up then restart the PC normally.

Post back if you have any trouble.

For now just ignore the flash drive buisness and try it this way ^

There just alternative ways of doing it.

Hi ghostface, ive burnt the browseui.dll to cd cos my friend doesnt have a floopy drive, now once i punched in those codes under command prompt "copy a:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32\" A message comess up saying that the drive door is open and needs to close for it to read when it iss alreaady closed. I assumed it was my cd drivee so i replaced it with my dvd writer, still comes up with same message. So which leads me thinking that i do need a floopy, yes?
 
No If you put A:blah blah blah it will look for a floppy drive,

If your gonna do it via the CD drive you need to change it from A: to D:

so it will look summin like this;

copy d:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32\

rather than

copy a:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32\

It WORKED!!!

Been busy lately and had no time to try it until today. Had trouble trying to run from d: it reads that no path or source can be found, 0 files copied. So when i went into Ctrl+Alt+Delete and run: i clicked browse, now i clicked on the tab that displays folders eg. my pc-my doc- and d:\ drive showed up with the "browseui.dll was there. So i right click to copy it went straight into system32 and paste it in. Then i entered exeplorer.exe in the tab box. It blinked for a second, i was scepticle and thought it wouldnt work. So i restarted the PC and i saw a sight that i would not expect!!! Im so grateful for people like you "Ghostface" and to a site that helps people like me. Im a young mother and to this day my husband has no idea that i stuffed up his PC and now fixed it! Ive saved heaps thanks to you $$$
