need to replace 6200LE card on a budget

i need to upgrade my card. i could possibly find 75 USD and just need the best i can buy ? i have been looking but dont know if any are known to be excellent or known to be bad ones so i'm asking for recomendations. i dont game yet but need it for working on documents which i have to turn pages electronically. want to try and speed up lag between pages.

PCI-e and i want NVIDIA and dont want it to require external power.

how low is kind of why i am asking. i dont really know that much about the cards. for instance when i was building my rig a 7600 was a great card and then 7900 the 7950 now the 8 series. i know that doesnt make the 7 series bad anymore than they were months ago but i just dont want to spend say 50 and not know that 10 or maybe 20 dollars more and i could have a lot better performing card.

i know the higher the number means a newer supposedly better version of card but what does the GT or GS mean

is it i.e. 7600 the GS then GT as far as better performing ???

GT is always better than GS. The 7600GT has a much higher core clock and memory clock, thus resulting in better memory bandwith.
 
The 7600gt draws more power. So as long as you have a decent powersupply, or absolutely need passive cooling, the 7600gt will perform better.
 
The 8600GT is a much better card then the 7600gs. I had two 7600gs in sli. They are decent. But the 8600gt is a better card. I don't see any connections for extra power for the 8600gt you showed so at max it would be drawing 75watts just like the 7600gs. (75 watts is what a pci-e lane can deliver on its own without the extra connections to the card). I'd go for the 8600gt between those two. But thats just me.
 
if i'm not mistaken i have a 420 watt PSU. i know its at least a 400 Watt.

i'm almost to the point of just getting the 7600 GS then if that doesnt help as much as i need it to just get a new MoBo and new 2gb DDR2 667 but still use my 4600 AM2 and see if that will help. for some reason having this cheap MoBo is bothering me.

the comments about the cooling fan bearing is what turns me away from this card.
i have 5-6 case fans that could help with the fanless 7600GS
 
IMO if your going to get a 7600gs theres no reason why not to get the GT version
its so much better not much more money
 
the more i study on it the more i want the GT. i know its way more than i need but who knows what the future might bring.

the question i have now is why are the low series 8 cards so cheap. are they not better than the 7 series ? is this just a Vista thing or DX 10 thing ?
 
No the low end cards such as 8400 and the 8500 arent good for gaming, but they are good for what you want to do with, maybe get a cheap 8400?

Cards such as the 7600 gt wil outperform the 8500 and 8400 cards in gaming, but in non 3d tasks you wouldnt see a different i shouldnt think
 
i ordered the 7600 GT

thanks for the suggestions. it was a little more than i hoped but it should speed me up i hope
