hey, gotta send my pc back to manufacturer for motherboard replacement. they say they do all kinds of tests on whole system....

wondering....lots of private info, docs, ect.

i was going to copy (back up) onto 2nd hard drive (mine) and remove from pc.

the what should i do? i got lots of programs...leave em on there?

or reformat/reinstall operating system and send them back like that?

didnt know what they would do with the info?

my jobs over years required me to have certain software, and some i have the discs and codes, others i don't.

any thoughts? suggestions?

thanks, appreciate the advice.....

if theyre going to be replacing your motherboard i wouldnt worry about whats on your hard drive. If you absolutely cant have them see whats on there then you could just install a fresh os on your second hard drive and send that one in with your PC and keep the original at your place. If you do, however, decide to send in your drive with all your programs you need I would definately back it up if I were you.
