Need to update my power supply

I'm going to add a graphics card to my hp pavilion a6130 and the cheap 250W isn't going to cut it. I want to be able to add a nvidia 9600gt so I looked at the power recommendations.
9600GT.................................400W .........................26A

I'd like to get a little better maybe a 500W
I believe that it's an atx but can somebody confirm this?
the power supply that's in there now is the stock hp made by hipro model HP-D2537F3R

My Specs right now are:
AMD X2 5000+ 2.66 ghz
500GB/400GB hard drives
3GB RAM
upgrading graphics

What would you recommend and it doesn't have to be one of the above. I want to be able to be comfortable with everything in there. Do I need to spend more than this? This is my first time really upgrading this thing myself besides the hard drive, ram, or wireless.

First substitute the StealthXStream with a 600w GameXStream OCZ model. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341001

You won't need the higher powered model being run here namely the 700w version of that seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341002

For a higher price the Corsair HX520 520w model is another alternate choice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001

Depends on your budget.
The Seasonic and OCZ you chosen is better than Cooler Master.
If you have more $$, go for SeaSonic S12 II SS-500GB/ OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI
 
The GameXStream models pass right by the StealthXStream models. If you are planning to oc or add drives, devices later then go with a sturdier model. Otherwise a good reliable 500-550w model will cover everything.
