I have an old Compaq laptop that's just dying on me. It runs unbelievably hot and shuts down after about 30 minutes of use. I'm looking to upgrade and there are just so many options out there.
I would like to stay $500 or less but would go higher if it is something really nice. I would like a Macbook but I just can't justify the price for what you get. I plan to use the laptop for web surfing, photo editing, playing music, watching videos like on youtube or streaming netflix, office work and hopefully something with solid battery life. I've had too many problems with HP and Acer products. Looking for something with some decent quality. How do Dell laptops stack up? I was also looking at Toshiba Satellite and Sony Vaio.
