Need Upgrades for my Aptiva 2274

Hi guys, I am new here and in need of some help on compatability issues with my computer. I want to upgrade the motherboard, processor, add more RAM, and possibly a new HD. I understand that there are many variations of motherboards yet I don't know which one will be compatable with my old computer.

My computer specs:
Product/Model/Rev 2274-12X (IBM Aptiva )/Rev. Client Tests
CPU AMD Duron(tm); 600 MHz
DVD-ROM Drive Hitachi GD-5000; Enhanced ATA/IDE; Spin Rate 8x
Hard Disk Drive Quantum Fireball CX20.4A; 20.4 GB; Enhanced ATA/IDE
Host Bus Adapter Embedded PCI EIDE; Ultra ATA/IDE (Ultra DMA)
Video Adapter S3 Savage 3D; AGP; 8 MB; SVGA
BIOS S21M
Bus Type 1 AGP
3 PCI
Computer Type Tower
Floppy Type 1.44 MB
System Test Kit Version K

It would be nice if someone could find me a compatable motherboard as I am not familiar with motherboards and not very much so with processors either. This site is selling motherboard bundles, and it would be nice if someone could find a compatable motherboard on this site.

Thanks for your time.

If you want to change all that, I'd recommend a good barebones unit. Drop in whatever RAM and CPU you want, and then salvage some of your drives. I say this, because it's a lot easier, a case that will fit your mobo, and you'll also be getting a newer power supply.

Some barebones will come with video, sound, and lan already built in. It's up to you if you want to put in your own. As for desktop barebones, I like the Asus ones, some of the shuttle's I like, and the Koss media one (with the remote) looks pretty niftly too.

Thanks for you advice. As I am looking into possibly buying a barebone kit. If I wanted to really update my Aptiva to my standards it might cost double of what a barebone kit would.
